Typology

typology n.
  1. classification according to general type

'The systemic reasoning behind the emergence of a type replicates a scientific approach; it conveys that an underlying strict logic is controlling a discipline that  might at times appear incoherent and out of control."

There are certainly typology for deisgn , complex, mixed- used and dense in urban environment like stated in the reading. I agree with the fact that every design is different from each other, thus the method o f designing them should vary in context.

":While both of the projects differ substantially in nature, some of the same typologies were applied in
their design in order to process, guide and edit the design process."

I think it make good sense to argue that the procedure could also vary, but categorizing design into types could in a way improve the design , given the chance to have a look on similar designs. Thus, designers could learn from their strategies.  I am stunned by the amazing transformation of the two projects shown and the progress of them turning , opening, and going back again. It feels like they were completely different from what they have started off from. Although I do think the article is quite hard to gripe onto, I tried to interprete them in my own understanding.
