Alpha Channel

Here is just a revision for me of what alpha channel is and how to make them as a semi-transparent second life texture.Okay, so we all know there are 4 channels, 3RGB color channels and a alpha channel.

"alpha compositing is the process of combining an image with a background to create the appearance of partial transparency. It is often useful to render image elements in separate passes, and then combine the resulting multiple 2D images into a single, final image in a process called compositing. For example, compositing is used extensively when combining computer rendered image elements with live footage."

Here is just a photo from Wiki to show how the alpha channel can work in another level, which is too hard for me beacuse there is a lots of math and calculation behind it.
However, I did find a video on you-tube that explains how to make one perfectly fine.
